About Neon Fluid Ecosystem

Neon Fluid Ecosystem combines the organic motion of fluid dynamics with the electric aesthetic of neon lighting, creating rivers of glowing liquid that flow, merge, and cascade across a dark canvas. Each fluid stream is colored by its assigned frequency band -- deep blues and purples for bass, hot pinks and cyans for mids, electric greens and yellows for highs -- producing a vibrant neon palette that shifts as the music's spectral balance evolves. The fluid behaves with physically plausible dynamics: viscous streams stretch and thin, turbulent eddies form at high energy, and surface tension causes droplets to bead and merge. The neon glow is achieved through aggressive bloom post-processing that makes the fluid appear to radiate light, casting colored illumination onto nearby streams and creating rich color mixing where different frequency flows interact. Neon Fluid Ecosystem delivers the visual richness of a fluid simulation with the stylistic punch of neon art. The dark background makes the glowing fluid streams pop with incredible vibrancy, and the organic, unpredictable motion keeps the eye constantly engaged. It is one of the most photogenic effects in the library, producing frames that work as standalone artwork.

How it works

The effect runs a GPU-based fluid simulation with multiple dye injectors, each assigned to a frequency band. Force injection magnitude and direction are derived from the band energy and phase, while dye color is set by the band's position in the neon color palette. The fluid solver uses the standard advection-projection method with Jacobi pressure iteration. A custom post-processing chain applies: (1) HDR tone mapping to handle the high dynamic range of overlapping neon colors, (2) multi-pass Gaussian bloom with a wide kernel for the neon glow, and (3) color grading that enhances saturation in the neon hue ranges while keeping the background deep black.

Tension Analysis (L4) shifts fluid color temperature between warm and cool based on chord tension, Key Color Mapping (L6) assigns neon dye colors anchored to the detected key, and Narrative Arc (L7) modulates fluid injection force across the song's structural sections.

Science Behind This Effect

Neon Fluid's color temperature shifts with chord progression changes — warmer during resolved (low-tension) chords, cooler during dissonant (high-tension) passages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Fluid Wave?+
Fluid Wave uses a single fluid with color mixing. Neon Fluid Ecosystem runs multiple colored fluid streams simultaneously, each mapped to a frequency band, with a specifically tuned neon glow post-processing chain for the electric light aesthetic.
Can I change the neon color scheme?+
Yes. The neon palette is fully configurable. Presets include classic neon (pink/cyan/green), sunset neon (orange/magenta/yellow), ice (blue/white/purple), and monochrome variations.
Does the fluid simulation persist between sections?+
Yes. The fluid state is continuous throughout playback. Dye from earlier in the song persists and mixes with new injections, creating an evolving history of the audio in fluid form.
