About Infinite Fractal Ecosystem

Infinite Fractal Ecosystem renders an endlessly zooming fractal landscape that pulls you deeper with every beat. The fractal parameters are continuously modulated by audio features, causing the mathematical structures to morph, twist, and reshape in real time. You never see the same pattern twice because the fractal equation itself is being played like an instrument, with your music as the performer. The zoom never stops. Each beat drives you deeper into the fractal, revealing new detail at every scale. During quiet passages the zoom slows and the camera drifts laterally, exploring the fractal's surface. During intense sections the zoom accelerates dramatically, creating a heart-pounding dive into infinite complexity. The color mapping evolves with the music's harmonic content, painting the fractal in hues that reflect the tonal character of each moment. Infinite Fractal Ecosystem represents the convergence of mathematics and music. Both are fundamentally about pattern, repetition, and variation -- and this effect makes that connection visible. The self-similar structures of fractals mirror the self-similar structures of music (verse-chorus-verse, rhythmic subdivision), creating a deeply satisfying audiovisual unity.

How it works

The fractal is rendered using a ray-marched escape-time algorithm in a fragment shader. The base fractal formula (configurable: Mandelbrot, Julia, Burning Ship, or custom) has its parameters (c values, power, bailout) modulated by audio features. Zoom level increases over time at a rate driven by RMS energy. The camera position within the fractal plane drifts based on spectral centroid (horizontal) and spectral spread (vertical). Color mapping uses a smooth iteration count with a palette lookup table whose phase and frequency are modulated by harmonic content. The shader uses distance estimation for anti-aliasing at the current zoom level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fractal types are available?+
You can choose from Mandelbrot, Julia, Burning Ship, and Tricorn fractals. Each has a distinct visual character, and the Julia set additionally allows a custom seed point for unique shapes.
How deep can the zoom go?+
The zoom uses double-precision floating point emulation in the shader, allowing depths of approximately 10^14 magnification before numerical artifacts appear. For most songs, this is more than enough.
Can I start the zoom at a specific location?+
Yes. You can set initial coordinates in the fractal plane to begin at a specific interesting region. The effect ships with several curated starting points known for their visual richness.
