About Cyber Brutalist Trench

Cyber Brutalist Trench plunges you into a narrow corridor flanked by towering brutalist architecture -- massive concrete structures with harsh geometric forms, exposed structural elements, and flickering digital signage. The buildings rise and reconfigure in response to audio, with bass frequencies driving the height of the megastructures while mid-range content controls the density and complexity of architectural detail. The camera moves forward through the trench at a speed tied to the music's energy, creating a claustrophobic yet exhilarating journey through a dystopian urban canyon. Neon signs and holographic displays on the building faces react to high-frequency audio content, flickering and changing with cymbals and hi-hats. The narrow field of view and towering structures create a powerful sense of scale that makes the viewer feel small against the massive, music-driven architecture. Cyber Brutalist Trench draws from the architectural philosophy of brutalism -- raw, honest, unadorned structure -- and fuses it with cyberpunk aesthetics. The result is a visual environment that feels simultaneously ancient and futuristic, oppressive and awe-inspiring. It is architecture as music visualization, and music as architecture.

How it works

Building geometry is procedurally generated using a seeded algorithm that stacks, extrudes, and subtracts box primitives to create brutalist forms. Building height is modulated by bass energy, and detail density by mid-frequency content. The scene is rendered as a forward-scrolling corridor with buildings generated ahead of the camera and recycled behind it. Neon signage uses emissive billboard meshes with procedural text textures modulated by high-frequency energy. Fog and volumetric lighting provide depth and atmosphere. The camera path follows the corridor centerline with subtle lateral sway tied to spectral centroid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the architecture different for each song?+
Yes. While the base geometry uses a seeded algorithm (reproducible for the same seed), the audio-reactive height and detail modulation means different songs produce visually distinct cityscapes.
Can I change the architectural style?+
The brutalist aesthetic is the core identity of this effect, but you can adjust parameters like surface roughness, window density, and structural complexity to shift between heavy brutalism and lighter modernist forms.
How is the forward motion controlled?+
Forward speed is mapped to RMS energy by default, so loud sections move faster. You can also set a fixed speed or sync the movement to beat timing for rhythmic forward motion.
